If you're here, you've probably already read the basic Getting started section. So let’s get started, manager!

According to the Powerplay rules, a team is made up of five players, each assigned to one of the following roles: IGL, Sniper, Entry Fragger, Support and Kill Machine. - For more information, refer to the Scoring and roles section.

As a manager, you create a lineup by choosing a card, representing an esports player, for each role from the pool of available cards in your Inventory.

  • Cards of the same player can be played in different roles

  • Participants from different esports teams can be selected for your fantasy team, but only players who actually participate in the esports tournament will earn points. See the Glossary for details on team, roster, and lineup.

  • Inactive players, not participating in the tournament, are marked as "Not playing". Use the "Not playing" filter to view them.

  • If you do not have enough active participant cards, you can still assign inactive cards to missing roles, but these cards will not earn points. This allows you to complete your lineup and participate in the game round.

Role perks — a new card attribute

Each card in your lineup now comes with a role perk, a percentage-based bonus that enhances the points earned by that card in its assigned role.

  • Only one role perk is active per round, based on the role assigned to the card

  • For most roles, the role perk increases role points by a percentage amount

  • For IGLs, the role perk applies to team role score, providing a boost based on team performance

  • Role perks affect the final Player & Role score before the Star multiplier is applied

  • Two identical player cards may score differently due to unique role perks

Choosing the right combination of role perks and base stats can give you a strategic edge in tournaments. More details are available in the Scoring and roles section.

Star player bonus

In addition to role perks, you can appoint a Star player in your team by clicking on the star above the card.

  • The Star player gets a 1.2× multiplier applied to their total points

  • Any card in your lineup can be selected as the Star player

  • Star player bonuses and role perks stack together, allowing for even greater point optimization when crafting your ideal lineup

For more information, see the Scoring and roles section.

Building and managing your lineup

To save your lineup, you must have at least five cards to play.

  • Each card can only be used in one lineup at a time, even if the manager participates in multiple tournaments

  • Once your lineup is set, click "Save" and wait for the official tournament matches to begin

Important rules to keep in mind

  • Your lineup must be completed and saved before the round begins

  • You can change your lineup as many times as needed before the round starts

  • Once the round starts, your lineup is locked until the next registration period

Tracking your tournament results

You can track the results of each tournament via the Leaderboard.

  • Each round has an interim leaderboard that updates as matches are played

  • The tournament leaderboard reflects the accumulated results of all completed rounds

At the end of a tournament:

  • The #1 manager on the final leaderboard wins the tournament

  • A season consists of multiple tournaments over a six-month to one-year period

  • The season champion is the manager with the most accumulated points over all tournaments

How to create the best lineup?

To assist with lineup decisions, Powerplay provides helpful sorting tools:

  • Sort players by effectiveness or personal preferences for different roles

  • Compare player characteristics to choose the best option for your lineup

  • Explore detailed esports analytics in the Powerstats section

With the introduction of role perks, understanding individual card attributes is more important than ever. Strategically leveraging perks, Star bonuses, and role-based performance is key to success.

Mastering lineup strategy will give you the competitive edge needed to dominate tournaments.
