Dear managers,
We’re thrilled to roll out a game-changing feature on Powerplay — role perks for cards.
Your lineup strategy is about to get deeper, as every card in your collection now comes with a randomly assigned unique bonus. These role perks boost the points your cards earn based on their in-game roles, giving you even more control over how you build your perfect lineup and making each card truly unique.
What are role perks?
A role perk is a built-in percentage bonus applied to a card’s performance.
These perks activate every round and increase the points earned by a card in a specific role. For example:
+3% to points when the card is used in the IGL (in-game leader) role
+5% in the sniper role
+9% in the entry fragger role
Only 1 perk is activated at a time, depending on which role is used for the selected card.
Each card has its own randomly generated perks, and while the bonuses might seem small at first, they can make a significant impact over a full tournament.
How do role perks change the game?
With this new feature, even cards with identical base stats will now generate different point values. That means your duplicate cards are more valuable than ever — each one comes with its own set of perks.
This update adds a new level of strategy to Powerplay:
Fine-tune your lineup — consider not just a player’s stats but also their role perks when assigning positions.
Maximize efficiency — find the best role combinations to squeeze every possible point out of your lineup.
Gain an edge in competition — a smart perk-based lineup could be the difference between a close finish and total domination.
Increase collectible value — role perks make each card unique, adding a reason to hunt for rare and powerful cards. The right perks can turn an ordinary card into a high-value asset.
We believe role perks will make fantasy CS2 even more dynamic, rewarding managers who master the art of strategic roster building.
When will role perks go live?
Role perks will be activated after the ESL Pro League tournaments.
This is just the beginning — stay tuned for more updates as we continue to enhance your fantasy esports experience. Our next step would be adding a way to get rid of unused cards and adding another way to generate new ones.
